NSW ahead at Women's Interstate Series

IN: News | Australian Ladies Amateur | Australian Women's Interstate Teams Matches (2008) | Round Two | 02 Sep 2008

On another fine and sunny Sydney day, the women took to Pymble Golf Course to resume state versus state hostilities.

South Australia began well, beating Tasmania in their foursomes matches although Ashlee Dewhurst and Jane Hyland had an excellent match for Tassie, beating SA’s Stephanie Na and Jovanna Bozanic who dominated their foursomes yesterday.

New South Wales produced another dominant display in their foursomes matches against Queensland – winning all three matches. Unlike yesterday, Queensland were also soundly beaten in the singles with Rebecca Flood and Julia Boland leading the way.

Victoria and Western Australia were hard to split as the foursomes went down the wire.

Clare Choi and Stacey Keating squared with Jessica Speechley and Whitney Hillier while WA’s Nicole Montgomery and Bronwyn Speechley defeated Grace Lennon and Stephanie Brennan 5&4.
