Recently played 36 holes over 3 days. The greens are just getting over regular coring but rolled very true. There was 2 par 3’s with temporary greens. The course requires straight hitting otherwise you end up in the sandy waste betwseen fairways. Some tight 90 degree holes where you need to hit the fairway to see the green. We stayed at the resort adjacent to the course. Book a penthouse and get a few friends together to share the cost, well worth it. The food was also very good in the clubhouse restaurant and well priced (2x T Bones $30) and not far to walk home (100 metres). Very quite at night.

Fantasic track with top greens and well maintained fairways. I can see why it has been rated so well in the past and it is good to see there are some course improvements taking place also. Unfortunately some of the OLDer Members there that i have been grouped with tend to be quite unwelcomming and Quite sour, thumbs up to all the staff both in the pro shop and clubhouse however.

the layout is quite good, though i can’t say i am a fan of a course that only has water on one hole. the fairways are ok, but nothing special. greens although recently aerated were still quite good, and remarkably true. Have to say though one of the more unwelcoming clubs i’ve played. played in a comp with 2 members. one was quite jovial and friendly. the other was the sourest golfer i’ve come across, and to be honest quite rude. a little more expensive for green&comp fees (for a visitor) than others around brisbane area. would play it again, though only if i was in the area and had nothing else to do.

Well when reading the reviews during the week leading up to playing this coarse, I was unsure what to expect when people were talking about the bunkers that aren’t bunkers but I soon understood.

The main point that stands out to me is the greens and how true they played.

Only played the back 9 but will certainly be back to play the full 18

One of the best course that i have played at great variety and some hole are a bit of a challenge other are simple. Last time that I played there they had the sprinklers on one of the holes so that was fun trying to hit without getting wet, we weren’t very successful

This is a well kept course and is very tight. If you go off the fairway, you will be in trees and standing on sand and your ball will be in the sand (even though you are not in a bunker). Great greens, just lacks elevation changes. Worth playing.

I would have to agree. Bribe is one of the better course in the Sushine Coast region. I have played there many times and although i know the course pretty well it still provides a fun challenge in keeping it straight down the middle with interesting hole placement. I love it and definately reccomend it to others.

Having played it for the first time it is easy to see why Bribie consistantly ranks inside the top 100 Aussie courses.

I have recently played on resort courses who charged over $60 and the quality of their fairways and greens do not even come close to the quality of Bribie and all for $26. The tree lined fairways call for accruacy off the tee but wayward shots are usually found in the sand based hazards amongst the trees. The fairways were lush and offered great lies everytime. The greens were easily the best I have putted on this year and some well placed pin positions made them challenging. The club house is the icing on the cake with it being a great spot to watch ppeople make the same mistakes you have just made at the great finishing hole. I'll never pass up a game there again when offered.

Bribie Island would have to be one of those course that offer all golfers a rewarding experience. A sand based course that is well maintained and grassed, with greens that are a pleasure to putt on. The open well grassed fairways are lined with a mixture of soft sand and trees that seem to capture any wayward shots, and make a good recovery shot a seemingly impossible task. The greens seem to drum as you hit your approach onto them and have enough give to reward the high approach shot. The true putting surface offers a reward to those brave enough to challenge the hole placement. I have found this to be a course that is challenging without being to punishing. Although the trees and the sand do offer the chance to drop a shot the lack of water means that you won't do too many balls.
