Not too bad for a country course, the problem is when it gets busy during events such as their open it becomes dangerous – many fairways are too close together and while there are some big trees around it is very easy to hit a ball onto an adjoining fairway! Also you have to run the gauntlet between the 1st and 10th fairways, neither of which are very wide, to get to the clubhouse and carpark; I wonder how many windscreens they break a year. Another problem in summer is the flies, I usually wear a face mask to avoid swallowing too many. Greens are small but immaculate and hold really well. Fairways are well grassed, water doesn’t seem to be a problem. Staff and members are very friendly and the beer on tap is cold and tasty.

This course was definitely a surprise, the locals talk it up as a standard golf course. Nothing out of the ordinary!!
When we played we were amazed at the beautifully tree lined fairways which made the course a spectacle.
This is one excellent course with beautiful fairways and greens to match, if wet go for the flag!!!
Definitely the best course in the district!!

Located about 5km north of town, it does get its fair share of QLD travelers. The GC is only 15km from Wallangarra (QLD/NSW border). The course also has motel accommodation for the weary-eyed driver. For a region of 6500 people it has a fantastically maintained country course. Very similar layout to Glen Innes, but out of the two, this course is better.
Tenterfield GC measures 5624m Par 71 with 9 Par 4s, 4 Par 5s and 5 Par 3s. Par 5s measure 440-485m and Par 3s range from 140-165m. I played from the back as the social tees are on the same tee-bed for every hole. Tree-lined fairways with many greens protected by bunkers (which has the finest sand). Other hazards include water on the 7th hole. OOB is a major factor along the boundaries of the 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 16th.
Played on 21/11/05 (Monday) and paid $19.50 visitor/social green fees for 18 holes, green fees are the same rate for 7 days. One of the better GC in the New England region. The views here are magnificent to the coastal ranges of QLD and Lismore region.

One of the best and prettiest golf courses i’ve played over the years, always green (even in winter with the frosts). Some holes are tricky and the greens are small but you can always attack. Do yourself a favour and venture to this course and enjoy a nice relaxed round in the peace and quiet.
