Kabi Golf Course

Sunshine Coast, QLD | User Rating: Rate-4 (4.0) | Add A Review

Kabi Golf Course was created to provide a place for recreation while preserving the environment. The organic aspect of the course makes it completely different from most other golf courses in the world.

Organics is quite often a misunderstood topic. Basically, it is doing everything the way it was done traditionally. In relation to a golf course it means that no toxic chemicals or fertilisers, usually used in modern-day greenkeeping, are used at Kabi. The ground staff hand weed the greens and spray only things that are made naturally, such as daisy extracts and worm-based fertilisers.

Kabi Golf Course is a fantastic place for large or small groups to enjoy a round. Kabi has three distinctive nine hole courses, the “Front and Back” nines are championship par threes with the full length “Orchard Nine” a par 36.

After reading the reviews I decide to give Kabi Golf Course a try. What a great place! We played on Saturday afternoon and were the only people on the course for the first nine holes we played. And the best part is they had a drinks cart going around so we we’re able to grab another bottle of cold water and a complimentary cold towel to wipe your face etc. Overall the scenery is great and there’s wildlife everywhere. I would recommend this course to people who were staying up the coast with the family and wanted to go for a hit with the kids. With no one putting pressure on you, you can relax and play golf the way it’s meant to be played.

Kabi is a hidden gem.

Sure, it’s not Augusta National but it is such a pretty setting with the wildlife, orchards and bushland that you feel relaxed and “de-stressed” just walking around the place.

If I played there again I’d probably stick to the par 3 holes. The nine that has a mixture of longer holes isn’t that inspiring compared to the par 3 nines.

Definitely give it a go if you’re in the area.

Kabi is a superbly presented par 3 golf course (plus the 9 full length holes)nestled in the Noosa hinterland. Unfortunately for the course, it not on the road to ’ anywhere’ and for this it suffers. Not that we’re complaining because it means you can have the most relaxed game of golf imaginable because you’re not having to wait and no one’s pushing you and because of it’s little use, it’s always in tip-top condition. Don’t let the par-3 tag fool you either, it’s a very demanding short course. Well and truly worth the 25 minute drive from Noosa.

I only had time to play the front 9 of the par 3 course at Kabi but after the 9 it made me want to play more and more as it is such a good little course.

Now its not the perfect course, the fairways are not the perfect green as it is an organic GC but it is real fun!

My favoroute hole would have to be the 9th as you have to hit the ball over a gully to get to the green. The green is around 3-5 meaters above you from the tee and the orchid is lined on the right incase you realy play a bad shot or if your only starting out.

The lunch at Karbi is great. Had a organic lamb burger to die for. One other thing. Be on the watch for wild life. Kangaroos and the lot can be seen.

The only reson I dont give this course 5 is that it is one LONG drive from Boreen Point.

A pleasant drive from Noosa to find a 27 hole course nestled among orchards and natural water holes.

Your choice of playing the par 3 18 holes or mixing it with a back nine of 3's and then the Orchard nine. Only drwback with the latter is you play 1 and 7 to make up the nine.

Either way just sit back and enjoy it all. Stay for a pleasant lunch and cold beer overlooking the 18th green.

This is truly a good feeling. Maybe it's not for the luxury loving golfers used to Troon Golf, but it proposes golf from a totally different perspective. Laid back, relaxing, no one pushing you from behind (usually you won't be with other players within 3-4 holes reach), just yourself and nature!

You feel very good to be supporting an organic initiative. The course is not a championship course, but that doesn't mean it's not challenging.

Water, wildlife, high tree walls and delicious smelling orchards stand in your way as you challenge the course.

There are 18 par 3's and 9 normal courses. The par 3's are pretty long too! If you've got the enthusiasm, you should go for all 27.

One thing you can not miss is the restaurant. Using mostly organic produce harvested on the premises, they will change your idea of salad. I have never tasted such crisp vegetables in my life! I've been there 3 times and it's always good. One more thing to note is the lemonade. Just taste it and you'll know what I am talking about.

Kabi Golf Course offers a well maintained par three course. The greens are similar to what you'd find at your average golf course. This place seems to be very hidden and not well known as it deserves to be. The couse is very picturesque and very peaceful situated in a lovely area. After your game I strongly reccomend you stay and get stuck into a home made pie which melts in your mouth!
