The 9 hole Beachside course sits atop the southern tip of the beautiful Mollymook Beach. This course is in great condition all year round and suits the more social golfer’s requirements. The views out to Colliers Bay and Mollymook Beach offer a stunning backdrop to your round so don’t forget your camera.

After your round, enjoy a drink in the modern clubhouse where you also have Waves Bistro, the Lounge, PM and Piano Bars, the Ocean View Coffee Lounge, the Children’s Retreat and the Bottle Shop to choose from.

Take a 7iron, a putter and 6pack. This is not serious golf but a casual seaside place to have a hack and socialise. If you enjoy it depends on what you came for.

It all comes down to expectations. Keen or accomplished golfers head to Hilltop as you'll be disappointed here unless you're after a round where you're more interested in finishing your stubbies than finishing your follow-through.

There's no doubt it's a nice setting, and generally the condition of the course is okay. However there's not a lot of interest in the design (the par 3 seventh is probably the most interesting hole - a shortish iron skirting a large gum to a semi-blind but large green), and the furriness of the always-elevated greens makes for some putting frustrations.

I often worry about the safety of courses such as this - there are several holes where you're on one fairway and you are in real danger of being hit by an errant tee shot from an adjacent hole. To me, good social courses take account of the lower standard of players and make for a safer design.

Great little 9 hole course, every time iv'e played there the course is in amazing condition considering the amount of traffic it takes. 4 par 4's 4 par 3's and 1 par 5.all the holes have some sought of character whether it be bunkers or water hazards, or small hard to hit greens. Well worth a quick round, perhaps before tackling the intimedating hilltop layout. jackstarone.
