A nice 10 hole golf course that gives you the chance to really focus on your golf without the distractions like other golf courses. The course is laid out beautifully adapting the natural wild life around the course. There’s a nice little club with a fantastic restaurant with even more impressive food. On the other side of the club there’s a bar, for a nice little escape from that “hard working” day at golf. The pro-shop, although small is very personal thanks to the friendly, inviting local Pro, Dave. At the moment the course is getting a makeover, being turned from a 10-hole, 18-tee golf course to an 18-hole golf course. The greens are very green thanks to the recent rainfall along the mountains and the above exceptional drainage. It’s a very relaxing golf course, a brilliant escape from working life.

This is a crackerjack 9 holer that has very little traffic and tests the ability to adjust to sloping lies and club selection for elevated or lower green placement. Many rate the 2nd as the best risk/reward hole on the central coast- a downhill narrow par 4, you want to play safe with a 3 wood but that leaves a very long iron on a downhill lie to a green on the other side of a pond. I often blow out on this deceptive course as I did today OUCH. The course at current (late Jan 2008) is the best i have ever seen it with good rainfall improving the fairways and greens. There are plans for another 9 including at least one hole that is currently being built with a synthetic green. She is the most hilly course I have ever played on. No practice green, you have to putt on the 9th. Plenty of room for practice irons /drives. Great clubhouse with big views, good food and a good atmosphere.

I played here and found a great. quiet little course. I felt like i was the only one on the course. (I may have been at some times) A nice test but not too tricky, only about four bunkers

The course at Mangrove mountain I found to be a very nice little course. All of the holes are relativly straight foward to play, only the slope of the ground to contend with. A very hilly course, so the legs get a good work out walking from hole to hole. The greens are well maintained and the scenery is great. The only thing I found difficult with the course was when you play the back nine (front 9 a second time), some of the tee off points were a little confusing, but all in all an enjoyable course which I hope to play again in the naar future.

The toughest golf course on the central coast. You will never have an even Lie, the ball will always be either above or below your feet. Although still is a great course to play, and it's cheap. Like the previous reviews I have got to comment on the walk up hill to the eigth hole. A must play golf course.

Whilst driving from Newcastle to Wisemans Ferry (via the Peats Ridge exit from the F3) for a long weekend, I passed this course and thought, that looks interesting. Stopped in for a round on the way back home and was most surprised with what I found.

The course isn't located near any major town or population centre and adjoins the localities ex-services club. It feels as though it is in pretty much the middle of nowhere, but is in fact only an hour or so from Sydney.

The course is a nine hole (18 tee) layout that is representative of most Australian country town courses. It is well wooded on every hole, with a selection of dams, bunkers and natural bush hazards to keep all levels of player honest. The fairways and greens were in excellent nick. It is built aorund a number of hills, valleys and associated slopes so theres plenty of vigourous walking to do, but to my mind, it only added to the charm.

At one point (the 4th tee I think) I couldn't see or hear any other golfers, traffic or other sort of man-made noise. It was just me, about four or five different fairways, a lot of natural eucalypt bushland and the local resident wildlife. One of those moments where the 'I know why I love this game' thoughts occured!

$15 for the round; hardly anyone else out on the course (a public holiday Monday) and a spectacular setting. What more could you want?

Membership is cheap and this is a great place to learn (although I'm still to get over the water on the second hole). This course gives you a great workout - walking up the hill to the eighth hole is the killer. After finishing up make sure you go to the clubhouse and order some food. Burgers are only $6 and the chips are to die for.
