Typical country-style golf course. Keep the ball on fairway and challenges will be few and far between.

Good Country Golf course. If you take into consideration that this is a small club with few members and only one full time green keeper you will appreciate how this course is maintained all year round. There is nothing like the feeling that you have a golf course all to yourself. 2008 see’s a new Golfing Board and they are starting to make a few changes to the course. I hear shortly there will be a complete new layout on the bottom 4 holes. Well worth calling in for a round.

This course is ok if you are after a game of golf with no wow factor. The course is in reasonable condition with no real standout holes. It is a little undulating. The most fearsome shot is up the 7th, where if you duck hook one, it will wind up in a B double’s windscreen on the Pac Highway. Give it a go if you want a cheap game and are not to picky about where you play.

Macksville is only a short course but well worth a hit if your travelling up or down the coast. The course has 10 holes but has alternating tees to make for an interesting 18 holes. The 2nd is a short par four, but the second time around you play to the same green but as a par three from a seperate tee area. The first is a straight forward par 4 down onto the flat then playing nothing more than a 8 iron to wedge in.The 2nd is a short par 4 dogleg to the left. The front of the green is protected by a pond & anything to far left is dead.A big hitter will easily drive this green.3rd is a longer par 4 dogleg with a small pond to catch the drive hugging the left side of the fairway. This hole normally plays into a nor-easter wind ,so it can play long.4th is a great little par 4 dogleg left.Place an iron down the middle with water left & right, you will only need a 9 iron in.5th is a 201 meter par 3,again back into the wind on most days so you need to catch all of this one off the tee.6th is a straight par 4 with out of bounds on the left & water on the right.Again fairly short hole,7 iron to wedge in.7th is across the creek par 3.Very straight forward hole.8th is another par 4 hitting uo from the tee your ball will land & run right so be sure to play your tee shot up the left side.9th is a par 5 of 501 meters with the fairway snaking to the right then left than back to the right again at the green. If you wish to play the back 9,it is covering the same ground but from different tees.Macksville is a small club so getting a hit on most days at any time is not a problem.
