Had the pleasure of playing this course on Saturday 10/02/2007. Having a handicap i was made only too welcome by the Club and it’s members to join in the club competition. The friendly atmosphere in the club house was something experienced far too rarely these days. Course stacks up very well considering recent climate conditions with the memorable holes being the short par 5 second and the double dog-leg 15th. A big thank-you to all involved with the club. Well Done

Had the pleasure of playing the course on Friday 2/02/07. Taking all the weather diversity into account, the course presents well. Have seen other courses not coping with water restrictions and you must give credit where it is due. Pat on the back for the Lancefield crew. Had a great day.

i played this course just the other day and i thought it was @!#$*. lancefeild is a inconsistent course with 1 green as lush as it should be and the other green as small as a bees dick. i am descusted in the way the course is. and me along with 126 other people think lancefield people should move to romsey becoase romsey is very good. and for those people who fart on the green and burn them all should also move to romsey

Lancefield is a course that needs playing at least a couple of times to enjoy it. Fairways are dry, not allowing very good approach shots, and greens are inconsistent at the best of times. A very open course, it would be best suited to beginners as a bad shot can be quite easily rectified. The par 3's are the highlights of the course, as they vary alot. The par 5's are mostly long and straight, offering little challenge. It's title "The Undiscovered Course", reflects the quiteness of the course, which is great if you just want to have a relaxing day of golf, without worrying about tee times. Being an open course does not make it easy, as long holes, the occasional undulating green and a few tricky water hazards make playing at Lancefield pretty interesting.

Lancefield is a very open course that lies on relatively flat land. The fairways are ok, but would be very wet if played in winter and dry in summer. It needs more trees or growth of trees to develop character or go towards a links style course. Funds might be a problem here. There are some nice holes, particularly the 15th that is 524m with out of bounds on the left. The hole turns left then right to a raised green. The quirky 102m 5th is a lovely short hole. Lancefield is in a nice bush setting, but overall doesn't have the character of other courses in the region.

I have played this course a few times now and it is a average course, with only 2 bunkers on the course. The greens are fairly slow and fairways are poor. It offers a few challanges and it is very substanded. But overall it isnt a bad little counrty course. My only real bad thing is the creeks running straight through the middle of the fairways.
