Plenty lay claim to being the hidden sandbelt gem but Kingswood deserves the title. The course condition was fantastic and the greens were the truest and fastest combination I’ve been on in a while.

A great combination of long and shortish par 4’s and although the 5’s aren’t enormously long, they do put a premium on hitting to the right spot.

Yes the front nine was redesigned and yes they could have done a better job but apart from the 2 par three’s and the 7th the rest of the course is of the highest class even when you take into account the other sandbelt courses. The condition of the course is without a doubt better then most (if not all) of its sandbelt brothers and sisters and that is a big claim. It is a true test of your skills too and you have to be straight of the tee and putt well to score well here.

Excellent course. Conditioning is better than any course in the area and some of the nicest greens in Melbourne.

The back nine is sensational and is a tough test of golf.

Was not in the top 100 courses last time around but should be in the top 50 and how they overlooked this I do not know.

Absolute gem of a course. Freindly helpful staff and a great corporate sponsorship package on offer.

This was once a very good course. Until about 5 years ago when along came a designer with an ego bigger than his cardigan drawer who mangled more than half of the front nine. Appalling stuff. A real shame for the club. The two par 3’s on the front nine are amongst the worst holes in Melbourne, only surpassed by the sheer stupidity and woeful design of the new 7th hole.

A lovely club atmosphere however and a breeding ground for some excellent professional golfers. Conditioning usually very good. Just ask to play the back nine twice.
